Tuesday is the Ladies main competition day. Predominantly qualifying competitions take place from March until October. These include EWGA and club medals in two divisions with a best gross, as well as competitions for various cups and trophies mainly handicapped, but some scratch cups too. A new computer system was introduced in 2009 and ladies can now sign up for competitions from home or at the club. Often, in excess of 70 ladies play in the competitions. During the winter months the emphasis is on social golf, usually sixteen holes, where ladies of all abilities are encouraged to play together and get to know each other. There is generally an informal prize giving after these friendly competitions.
Ross Ladies are affiliated to the Cotswold and District Alliance League, which has several divisions, where teams of nine play singles matchplay off scratch; players go out in handicap order. Ross has an A and B team in this league. Unfortunately the A team was relegated to Division 2 in 2009 so both teams are now in the same division. This will make for an interesting season in 2010.
There is also a friendly C team of ladies with handicap usually over twenty playing Four Ball Better Ball or foursomes matches against other local clubs. For match news visit Ladies fixtures
